Our mission is to prepare first-generation, limited-income college students and recent graduates to be leaders in their communities. We envision a future where every young person achieves their full potential and contributes their talents to build thriving communities. The Aspire Institute is an independent non-profit co-founded by Harvard Business School Professors Tarun Khanna and Karim Lakhani. To date, we have reached over 500,000 students across 190 countries. About the Role

As our Hult Summer Intern for Programs, Marketing, & Operations, you will contribute across three pillars of Aspire’s work: driving marketing and communications initiatives, supporting the Extended Leadership Program (ELP) and its alumni community, and contributing to day-to-day operations. This is a broad, highly autonomous, high-ownership role well suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, moves comfortably between projects, and wants real exposure to how a fast-scaling global nonprofit operates. You will work across teams, interact with alumni and partners around the world, and leave with a tangible portfolio of work that spans community building, content creation, and organizational support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Extended Leadership Program (ELP)

  • Support the Alumni Volunteering Program with recruitment and onboarding, volunteer communications, and volunteer logistics
  • Assist Partnerships with communications, administration, event collaborations, tool access, and metrics tracking
  • Contribute to Financial Awards by responding to inquiries, sending target communications, and coordinating awards logistics like events, funds distributions, and data tracking
  • Develop alumni engagement activities, including newsletters, events, and content

2. Marketing & Communications

  • Create and edit multimedia content for social media and newsletters
  • Assist with event logistics, including registration pages, marketing materials, and agendas
  • Conduct outreach research to identify new partnership opportunities and make introductions to the team
  • Analyze the performance of events, email campaigns, and social media initiatives; synthesize data to inform outreach strategy

3. Operations

  • Provide general administrative support to the team, including scheduling, facilities, document management, and meeting coordination
  • Attend team meetings and assist with note taking, data tracking, and follow-up
  • Support preparation of internal reports, presentations, and briefing materials
  • Take on ad hoc operational tasks as organizational needs arise

Employment Details

  • Location: Hybrid based in Cambridge, MA; in office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and remote on Mondays and Fridays
  • Reports to: Dimitri Antoniou, Chief of Staff (primary); Rizreen Siraj, ELP Manager; Hannah Roza, Senior Communications Coordinator
  • Schedule: 30 hours/week with some evenings and weekend work required based on our international stakeholders and event calendar
  • Dates: May – August (dates flexible, according to individual needs)
  • Travel: Out of town travel is not required
  • Compensation: $23/hr

  • Comfortable working autonomously and experimentally to achieve the desired impact for your role in a matrix team environment
  • A proactive communicator who takes initiative, follows through on commitments, and keeps stakeholders informed
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities simultaneously

You bring…

  • Experience or coursework in nonprofit management, communications, program coordination, or a related field
  • Strong written communication skills and comfort drafting professional emails, newsletters, and content
  • Familiarity with CRM or event management platforms (FullFabric experience a plus, but not required)
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar)
  • Comfort working across time zones with international stakeholders
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at Hult International Business School in Boston, MA
