Tarun Khanna is the Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor at the Harvard Business School and was named the first director of Harvard’s Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute in 2010. For over two decades, he has studied entrepreneurship as a means to social and economic development in emerging markets. He has been at Harvard Business School since 1993, after obtaining degrees from Princeton and Harvard, and has taught courses on entrepreneurship, corporate strategy and economic development to undergraduate, MBA and Ph.D. students and senior executives.  He is a co-founder of several for-profit and not-for-profit entities serving emerging markets, including Aspire Institute, and serves on numerous boards in the US and India. 

He lives in Newton, MA, with his wife, daughter and son.
