148 registrations in less than a week. 61 attendees. One unforgettable evening. And this is just the beginning.
When Aspire announced its first event in Mexico City, we expected interest. What we didn’t expect was a waitlist within days, a WhatsApp group filling up with eager professionals, and an energy in the room that made it clear. Mexico was ready for Aspire Institute—and Aspire Institute was ready for Mexico.
Volunteers Leading the Way

Hosted by Promotora Social México at their Mexico City headquarters, the October event brought together first-generation professionals seeking connection and growth. The evening featured a panel of four Aspire alumni volunteers, each of whom is a recipient of the Seed Fund award. They are now leading innovative, community-impact projects across Mexico.
The panelists didn’t just share success stories. They shared the messy middle. The pivots. The moments of doubt. And ultimately, the breakthroughs that came from staying connected to their communities and their “why.”
Following the panel, attendees rolled up their sleeves for a personal branding workshop led by another Aspire volunteer. The session moved from theory to practice immediately. Participants paired up for 1:1 networking sessions, putting their newly crafted introductions to the test with real conversations. Icebreakers and games kept the momentum going. Strangers became connections. Connections became community.
More Than an Event—A Foundation
For first-generation professionals in Mexico, access to networks can be the difference between a career and a calling. The traditional pathways (family connections, alumni networks, industry insiders) aren’t always available to those who are the first in their families to navigate professional spaces.
That’s why this event mattered. It wasn’t just about the 61 people in the room. It was about signaling to the broader community: you belong here, and there’s a global network ready to support you.
We are especially grateful to Isabella Castro Altuzarra for her incredible logistical support, as well as to Alina Aksiyote and Ana Flores for their enthusiasm and partnership as Aspire continues to grow its presence in Mexico City.

How about Looking Ahead: Aspire Foundry in Mexico
The October event was a proof-of-concept. January is the official launch.
Aspire is building a global movement while fostering local community through our Foundry model. Foundries are local hubs that provide in-person, on-the-ground support, community building, and resources in Bolivia, Brazil, India, Pakistan, Türkiye, and now…Mexico!

On January 27, 2026 Aspire will host an official launch part in Mexico City to celebrate the opening of our newest Foundry office. The Mexico Foundry is made possible thanks to the generous support of local partners and donors, Gentera and Promotora Social Mexico (PSM). Mosaico Mentores, a CDMX-based non-profit, will be our local Foundry partner, helping to create a community to incubate ideas, connections, and careers.
With continued collaboration from local faculty and mentors such as Aldahir Caballero and Rolando Zarek Martínez Treviño, Aspire is strengthening its ties to the local ecosystem and expanding opportunities for first-generation students and young professionals.
Be Part of the Movement
Whether you’re a first-gen professional in Mexico looking to connect, a volunteer ready to share your expertise, or an organization interested in partnering with Aspire, now is the time to get involved.
We’re actively growing our community in two key ways:

- Aspire Alumni & Volunteers: If you’re interested in contributing as a Campus Leader, Community Leader, or in another volunteer role, we invite you to complete our volunteer interest form. This helps us build a strong network of alumni ready to support and lead future initiatives.
- Partners & Collaborators: Universities, companies, mentors, and guest speakers who want to support first-generation talent can sign up through our partner interest form to explore meaningful ways to collaborate.
One thing is clear: when volunteers lead, partners collaborate, and community shows up, lasting impact follows.
