Camila Fernandes, a member of the 2025 Aspire Leaders Program, has been selected for the McKinsey Forward Program, a global professional development initiative by McKinsey & Company. This achievement marks another important step in her journey after Aspire, reflecting a path of growth, confidence building, and impact.

Building Personal and Professional Capacity

The McKinsey Forward Program brings together participants from over 130 countries in a learning experience focused on essential skills for the future of work, including structured problem solving, communication, adaptability, and leadership. Fernandes sees her acceptance as an indication of her continued growth.

“This opportunity represents an important step in my personal and professional journey, something that started to grow stronger during Aspire,” she shared.

Fernandes first discovered Aspire through social media at a time when she was still exploring her path and potential. Born and raised in the Northeast of Brazil, she describes a reality where effort was constant but not always recognized, even by herself.

“I was already studying, building projects, and developing skills on my own, but I saw all of it as something ordinary, almost like an obligation, not something valuable,” she explained.

Her time in the Aspire Leaders Program changed this mindset, and Fernandes began to reframe her own trajectory.

“For the first time, I understood that what I was building wasn’t just survival, it was potential,” she said. “Maybe what I lacked wasn’t ability, but perspective.”

This shift in thinking boosted her confidence and led Fernandes to pursue international opportunities. She emphasizes that Aspire helped her develop organization, clarity of goals, and the confidence to position herself.

“Before, I might not have felt ready to apply,” she said. “After, I realized that growth also requires the courage to put yourself in these spaces.”

Dedication to Tech and Women’s Initiatives

Beyond McKinsey Forward, Fernandes is involved in several initiatives that reflect her interest in innovation, technology, and impact. She is currently participating in L’Oréal Brandstorm, a global competition by L’Oréal, where her team is developing a proposal focused on the future of luxury perfumery, exploring how technology and community can make fragrance creation more personalized and collaborative.

At the same time, Fernandes is leading the development of She Vibe, a website created by women for women, designed to help users track workouts, monitor progress, and maintain consistency in their fitness routines. The idea emerged from the realization that many women lack simple and accessible tools to support their journeys.

The initiative is part of a broader movement, the SheTech Community, where Fernandes coordinates the project while fostering the growth and leadership of other women in technology. The project also includes the participation of fellow Aspire alumna Mônica Bello, a testament to the ongoing impact of the Aspire network and the importance of networking and collaboration among members.

“More than building a solution, we want to create an environment where other women can grow, develop, and take on leadership roles,” Fernandes emphasized.

Reflecting on her journey, Fernandes underscores that her story is not about exception, but about access, and how changing the way we see our own path can unlock new possibilities.

“Aspire helped me adjust my own lens. Today, through the projects I lead, I aim to help others do the same.”

Looking ahead, she plans to continue investing in her development in technology, innovation, and leadership, while also supporting the promotion of the Aspire Leaders Program in João Pessoa, especially through initiatives connected to education and technology.

Her trajectory highlights how access, community, and a shift in perspective can transform paths, and how young leaders can expand not only their own opportunities, but also the impact they create around them.
