Turkey represented a large portion of applications during the 2022 Aspire Leaders Program and on August 7, 2022, nine alumni gathered to speak about their experience with our Regional Faculty Advisor and Boston College professor, Can Erbil

Over some food at a local cafe in Istanbul, these nine Aspire Leaders Program alumni, one from 2020 and eight from 2022 Cycle One, shared their experiences and ideas for continued engagement.

Selin K. suggested creating an online platform to connect with the program and each other throughout each stage. The Aspire team has set up a Slack channel for current alumni to interact and hopes to have a central online learning platform for all Leaders in Training in the future.

These alumni expressed that their favorite element of the program was the case studies and getting to interact in breakout rooms on Zoom with their Stage 5 peers. Now that they have also connected in person, they are excited to work together on addressing issues in their community.

They feel proud to represent Aspire in Turkey and presented ideas about forming new partnerships.

Aspire Institute is grateful to our regional connections such as Can Erbil and these engaged alumni. With the launch of the Aspire Alumni Ambassador (AAA) program and more in-person events, it will be exciting to hear more stories about the impact of the Aspire Leaders Program on communities around the world.
